The road to 600 credits | Part 5- A coastal credit cruise

Standing at 594 credits I had a choice. Mop up some of the more local to me, less than amazing creds in the South East or wait until a bigger trip to get some real quality. Th uncertainty of the current climate meant that there was only one thing to do. It was time for a shameful cred run.

I don't generally do obscure small credit mop up days in the UK but 2020 is a different kind of year and I had a load of creds in the Hampshire and West Sussex area that I still needed along, with some company and so it was decided.

West Sands Fun Fair [+1]

Who says you can't see culture whilst getting creds (Selsey Windmill, just outside the Fun Fair)

First stop of the day was a run in and out due to both the rain and very time limited parking restrictions. Luckily after traversing the soggy funfair we walked straight onto a full train on the caterpillar and shortly got our cred. Great, time to head east!

South Parade Pier

After parking up by Clarence Pier we decided to make the walk along the seafront to nab the new for 2020 wacky worm on South Parade Pier.

Cred spite!

Turns out the rain was going to be a burden today.

Clarence Pier [+2]

I should have really got the credits here years ago but they've changed quite recently so two new for 2019 coasters were now on the menu. Trouble is, one was down due to the rain. Drat! This cred run wasn't going so well. Ok well, we'll do the Mad Mouse and see if the other one opens.

A little montage of my visit.

We dawdled around wondering whether to move onto our final cred destination of the day but then spoke to a maintenance guy who told us the second cred was hopefully going to open shortly as it was now dry. Ok, we're back in the game! We decided use our waiting time to view a Hovercraft launch on the next door beach which is always quite something to see!

The second credit reopened and let me tell you, I was NOT expecting airtime on an SBF Visa spinner!! This one is a double level one and if you get a spin into the drop it's actually pretty violent and gives a pop of airtime! I think this took some of the smaller kids and parents on the ride quite by surprise!

Funland Hayling Island [+1]

The final stop of the day was Funland Hayling Island, which unfortunately was only home to on credit this year, but it looked like a decent one and something a bit different. A wild mouse with mine train cars!

Oh how I was wrong! This was not pleasant AT ALL! The restraint bar is really in the wrong place for a coaster with endless hairpin pens and I was very surprised to not come off with a thousand bruises on this ride. Don't think I'll be reriding that one anytime soon! The park is right on the beach and has a great sea view as well as lots of rides for smaller children. Annoying the park only let you buy tokens in chunks so we didn't have enough to ride any of the larger rides without buying a load more so opted for a nice scenic ride on the dinosaur themed mini log flume as seen below!

It was quite pleasant actually and had some theming!

So all in all a productive +4 day was completed! 598 was now the current count! Things are getting tense now! Just two more credits to find!
